Making magic is all about intent, energy, and action. For the most part, my creations are infused with intent and energy already (though you add a lot to it), but the action part is all up to you. Be sure you’re doing what’s needed in the mundane world to get the results you want, and the magic will meet you there.

Care and Contents

Your pillow contains a magical blend of herbs and essential oils that are deeply protective and encourage peaceful sleep.

These candles have already been “fixed” which means ritually prepared for a specific purpose. You can boost this purpose and direct it to what it is you want by either writing a petition to place under the candle while it burns, or by writing directly on the glass in permanent marker (be careful as it can smudge while drying).

Preparation

First, give your candle a quick and gentle cleanse. Wet your hands with Florida Water, salt water, holy water, or moon water, and gently pat down the outside of the glass. Alternately, you can leave your candle on top of a pile of salt overnight. Figure out where you’ll keep your candle, away from kids and pets, and ideally where it can be kept lit. It’s fine to move your candle as long as you keep your petition and any offerings near it. You may wish to have an altar space just for this candle, but it’s not necessary. 

Before lighting, remove any large pieces of herbs or flowers, and any crystals from the top of your candle. These can be placed near your candle as offerings. Not following this step can result in a fire hazard.

Writing Your Petition

Your petition should be for a single thing, and be written as if you already have what you want. For a Success candle an example might be: I have a job I love that pays well, has great health coverage, flex time, and a positive working environment. You can include details, but the single thing wanted here is a better job. For a Love Drawing candle an example might be: I’m with a person that cares deeply about me, is fair and even-tempered, and treats me how I deserve to be treated. We are an excellent match. For Love candles, the petition can also be for friendships or increased self-love. Write this petition on a virgin (never been written on) piece of paper and fold it three times towards yourself, or directly on the glass of the candle. Be sure to sign your name to the paper or the glass. You may wish to speak your petition into the candle, and give gratitude to it as well. You don’t need to write a petition if you don’t wish to, or are after a very general thing, but please sign your name to a paper or the glass to direct the energy.

Lighting

Remember to remove any large pieces of herbs or flowers, and any crystals from the top of the candle.

Ideally you’ll light your candle on a day of the week that corresponds with your goals, when the moon phase is correct. You may wish to place a glass of water by your candle, or burn some incense, as an offering for what you are going to receive. 

• Success - waxing moon, Thursday or Sunday

• Love Drawing - waxing moon, Friday

• Blessing - full moon, Saturday or Sunday

• Healing - new or waxing moon, Monday

• Obstacle clearing - waning moon, Saturday

• Money or Abundance - waxing moon, Wednesday for fast cash, Thursday for long-term growth

Tending

Never leave a burning candle unattended and know that glass enclosed candles can shatter while burning, though it’s rare. Follow all good fire safety recommendations with your candle.

Ideally you will let your candle burn continuously until there is about 1cm of wax left, at which point you will blow it out to finish the spell. If you need to extinguish the candle before this, smother it by placing a plate or something similar over the top until the flame dies out. For safety if you can’t keep an eye on it, you can place your candle in the kitchen sink or bathtub where if the worst happens, nothing around is flammable. You can also use an empty coffee tin for this. Be aware that once the candle is about 3/4 burned, it will be very hard to re-light, and sometimes impossible. 

Disposal

You can either dispose of the glass, or keep it to reuse. Either way it needs to be cleansed with florida water, salt water, holy water, moon water or another liquid spiritual cleanse that you use, then held under running water and rinsed completely. If you are disposing of it, do so at a location that is away from your home (ideally at a crossroads, but please don’t litter!). 

Have Patience

Patience is a big part of spell work. Act like whatever you’ve asked for is already yours. Don’t doubt that it will be. Don’t do follow-up work on the same request for at least one month or more. Sometimes our requests take time to line up properly, and they will be worth the wait. 

These compact spells are ready to fulfill their purpose. They only need to be placed in an appropriate location. 

• Safe Travels - in your purse, backpack, or other carry-on luggage. Keep close to you as much as possible during your trip. (I’ve yet to be stopped by security for having a similar bottle in my bag.)

• Abundance - Near your money or in your place of business by your safe, lockbox, or cash register.

• Love - as close to you as possible at all times, especially on dates, or in any situation you might meet a good match.

• Protection - wherever it is you need to feel safer. In your car, in your desk at work, in your purse. This particular bottle works best if hidden from others, hence its compact size.

These potent little packets are hand-folded, filled with a blend of specially selected herbs, and sealed with intent. Increase their effectiveness by writing your specific petition and signing your name directly to the envelope. These can be burned in ceremony, buried, or carried with you. If you choose to burn them, do so in a fire safe dish either outside or in a well ventilated room. If the envelope breaks, either it has done it’s job or you’re dealing with a blockage.

Money rice can be used in a number of ways to draw more money in. Please remember this is not an edible product, and it should not be burned.

• Place a container of it near your money or in your place of business by your safe, lockbox, or cash register. 

• Use in spellwork by making a circle of money rice around a money or abundance spell candle.

• Use in charm bags with other ingredients intended to boost cash flow.

• Offer a dish of it to your ancestors or spirits in gratitude for all you have.

• Keep some in your wallet.

• In any other work or ways that encourage money to come and stay.

These kits contain everything you need for your own little ritual, and most include enough oil and powder for multiple spells. My spell oils, although diluted enough to be skin safe, all contain essential oils that could be skin irritants. Always do a patch test before wearing and keep out of reach of pets and children. Spell powders are for dressing your candle and adding to other spells or sprinkling as you see fit.

Cleansing and Space-Making

Before you begin your spell work you and your space need to be physically and energetically clean. First you can cleanse yourself, ideally in a salt bath, but other methods like smoke cleansing also work. Whatever space you’re working on, give it a wipe down so it’s clear of dust and dirt. You may want to put down an altar cloth or clean tea towel if what you’re doing might get a bit messy. Next you’ll want to energetically cleanse your space. There are lots of ways to do this. You can use smoke like sage, palo santo, lavender, or rosemary, with sound from a bell or singing bowl, or you can wipe down your surfaces with moon water, florida water, or holy water. You can also find room sprays created specifically for cleansing. Then you can set up with everything you need for the spell and any extra decor, candles, etc.. Minimalist is totally okay! 

Writing Your Petition

You can write your petition on either a piece of paper, carve it directly in the candle (for large candles only), or a piece of joss paper (provided in money kits). Your petition should be for a single thing, and be written as if you already have what you want. For a Success spell an example might be: I have a job I love that pays well, has great health coverage, flex time, and a positive working environment. You can include details, but the single thing wanted here is a better job. 

Dressing Your Candle

Use the spell oil and powder provided in your kit to dress your candle. Do this by rubbing a few drops of oil on the candle toward yourself, then sprinkling or rolling it in the spell powder. While you do this, think of your petition, imagine it as reality. If your kit contained money rice, you can make a ring around your candle with it to increase the effectiveness. If you’ve done a patch test and are okay wearing the oil in your kit, you may also wish to anoint yourself with it while performing your spell. 

Performing the Spell

Now you can light your candle and start the spell! You may wish to burn your petition in the flame of your candle to release it into the universe at whatever point feels right to you. You need to raise energy and visualize your goal while your candle burns. Sing, drum, play music, meditate, have sex (with an informed and consenting partner), masturbate, connect to the divine, or chant. You need to keep your intent in mind while doing this. Once this energy is raised, you want to direct it by filling it even more full of your intent and telling it where it needs to go. You can do this by intently visualizing your goal, as if it were reality.  When your candle is done burning, you need to release this energy in a way that corresponds to how you raised it.. A shout, clap, or bell if you were using sound, a gentle bow of the head if you were meditating, orgasm if it’s sex magick, or something else. This step is the “and so it is” or “so mote it be” that comes at the end of some spells. You need it to feel a bit final and something that you can easily visualize the energy being released out to do what you’ve directed.

After the Work

You’ll need to ground yourself after completing a spell to let go of any lingering energy that may not have gotten released and to balance yourself. You can cleanse again, or simply press the palms of your hands or your forehead down to the floor and breathe deeply while letting your energy normalize. It’s important now to do your work in the mundane world that will bring your goals with ease. How will you ever get a new job if you aren’t sending out resumes or networking? Your spell work has opened the path and will assist in getting the right things to you, but you need to make sure the opportunities to give it to you are there. 

Have Patience

Some spells work quickly, and others take time to realize. It depends a lot on what you’ve asked for and how different it is from your current situation. It’s best not to repeat spell work for the same thing for - at minimum - a month, but six months is better, unless there was some sign in your work that it was blocked or incomplete. Things like a lot of black smoke, a candle going out for no reason or refusing to light again, or some other negative thing are signs that the work was blocked. If your spell went well, go forward knowing that whatever you asked for will be yours, and be grateful for what you’ve already got along the way.

Spell powders can be used in a number of ways.They can dress candles, be sprinkled onto items you wish to charge with their energy, or used around your altar or home. All of my spell powders, except Hot Foot Powder, can also be burned as incense.

Please be cautious with Hot Foot Powder as it should not be burned or inhaled, and you should wash your hands after handling it (or wear gloves). This powder is intended to get unfavorable people out of your life by making them uncomfortable where they are. It is to be sprinkled where they will walk in it, but where it won’t be noticed. Mix with dirt from a highway out of town or the railroad tracks to increase the effectiveness.
